S'Up  for Writing

I created a website, S'up for Writing, to fuse humor with the writing process in such a way that when my students feel "stuck" that they will perhaps first turn to the site to laugh, but then remain because the information it contains is realitsitc and helpful. Whether I actually know what is humorous to my students has not been establsihed and goes outside the scope of this project.

The URL for the site is: http://dabrown6.wix.com/supforwriting.

The primary audience for this project is comprised of my Basic Writing and Composition I students. These are students attending a conservative Christian college so all content had to be carefully screened to ensure it woud be deemed "appropriate" by the university's governing board. Future adaptations could include a section on research designed for Composition II students.

Key Features inlcude:

  • Incorporated videos for idea generation and inspiration

  • Listed basic writing tips and tools in a casual tone

  • Included many outside links for additional support
